Last year, I took the week between Christmas and New Year’s to recharge my blogging battery. I think I’ll do it again. Can’t wait to share 2011 with you… after an injured start, 2010 was pretty darn good for running.

May 25, 2010People do a lot of silly things in the name of physical fitness. Like those men who pull tractor trailers. Or Zombie aerobics. Or people who ride bikes. I think I mentioned I’m going to run the Warrior Dash with my pal Christiaan in October, where we’re going to jump over fire pits. Strangely enough, this makes way more sense to us than getting on a bike for any length of time.

Red Eye Running relay team
After the Cape relay, the team has been bandying about ideas for follow-up events, from The Great Wheelbarrow Race in GodKnowsWhere, Australia to my suggestion: burro racing in Colorado. Not many were in favor of my idea. But the 12-person relay is now so common. In the middle of the Cape Relay, I casually suggested we could do it as an ultra next year, and PT James looked like he might push me in front of a moving vehicle. Since then, my physical therapists have tossed me to the curb and gone into hiding.
I still feel the need to crank the Crazy up to 11. Fortunately, there are people to enable me. They are my new best friends.
